Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety and Compliance Officer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality and compliance within our organisation.  The position is full-time but part-time may be considered for the right candidate.  A remote / WFH candidate may also be considered on condition of semi-regular site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

The Safety & Compliance Officer, working closely with the Safety Manager and Chief Pilot, will be responsible for but not limited to:

Safety Management System (SMS) - The implementation, management and continuous improvement of the Company’s SMS including but not limited to safety reporting, promotion, quality assurance and risk management.

Compliance – Conducting regular audits and reviews to monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Incident Investigation and management - ability to conduct comprehensive investigations into safety incidents and effectively manage responses to incidents.

Understanding Regulations - Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards that apply to the organisation's operations and providing guidance to management and employees on compliance matters.

Assisting with Tender submissions and ensuring ongoing adherence to client specific compliance requirements.

Plan and implement processes and strategies that lead to continuous improvements in overall safety, efficiency and compliance of the Company.

There is significant opportunity for training and development in this role for the right candidate.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  •  At least 1 years’ experience in a similar safety / compliance / quality management role.
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Efficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated to find and improve efficiencies in systems and processes.
  • Resourceful with the ability to research and decipher regulatory requirements then develop and implement appropriate strategies.
