- Safety in design reviews at the various stages of lifecycle, utilising the appropriate risk methodologies and design principles. This will either be as a facilitator, participant or review of OEMs designs
- Support capital & procurement processes as well as building design, specification and launch processes to ensure 'right first time' safety outcomes
- Lead and influence the internal/ external audit program to maintain world-class safety management systems outcomes for the ecosystem.
- Provide oversight and direction to the ecosystem by identifying best practices across the business and broader industry, and communicating and consulting learnings and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide strategic direction and coaching on the subject matter in the chapter teams via 1:1 coaching, capability uplift and chapter development
- At least 5 years work experience within a Safety Engineer or equivalent role
- Bachelor Degree in relevant engineering field, registered (or can be registered within 6 months) under a state-based professional engineering board (e.g. BPEQ)
- In-depth understanding and demonstrable experience with AS/NZ 4024; and familiarity with EU Machine Directive 2006/42/EC and ability to understand differences to AU requirements
- Strong experience with industry leading Safety in Design frameworks; including application of both WHS regulations and relevant AU/NZ and ISO Standards
- Strong knowledge and experience of supplier risk management, along with the material risks
