Reporting to the National Risk & Safety Manager, the Safety Systems & Data Analyst is responsible for administration and supporting implementation of the Myer Safety Management System. You will be promoting the implementation of the safety management system, development of implementation tools, developing communications plans and tracking completion of scheduled activities are integral to success. You will also responsible for supporting and development of the safety IT and record keeping systems. This role also encompasses the provision of data reporting and analytics to the business to track key safety performance measures and identify safety trends and develop data insights to contribute to improved safety interventions and performance.
About the role:
- Co-ordinate and manage the safety communication program, including the development of communication schedule, plans and content to support ongoing implementation of the safety management system, Risk & Safety strategy and safety initiatives.
- Provide support to the National Risk & Safety Manager for key activities associated with implementation of the Safety Management System including the Safety Audit program, Site Safety Reports, Chemical Register and development of the annual Site Safety Activity Planner.
- Administer various safety management IT systems, ensuring data integrity and provide recommendations to improve the functionality
- Develop and compile regular safety performance metrics and management reporting as well as ad-hoc reporting
- Conduct data analysis to identify insight and trends to assist in the identification of safety trends and risk
- Coordinate projects related to the review, testing and implementation of Safety IT system upgrades, acting as a liaison between Risk & Safety, Human Resources, Information Technology departments and external IT providers to provide systems support and analysis and to leverage technology solutions
- Maintain the Safety Sharepoint and Intranet sites
- Optimisation of existing and development of new and future data sources
- Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation related to Safety IT system
- Participate in safety projects to support the Risk & Safety Strategy
About you:
- Degree/diploma qualifications in a Safety-related field eg. OHS, Risk, Human Resources
- Experience working in a National corporate and/or retail environment
- 2+ years relevant work experience in a safety related field
- Experience with supporting the administration of a safety management system
- Advanced skills in use of Excel and Data analysis as well as Adobe suite (Illustrator or InDesign)
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis and development of reporting suites
- Ability to develop safety communication plans and deliver key messages clearly and credibly with different audiences
- Attention to detail and ability to utilise this skill pragmatically when developing communications and reviewing the Safety Management System documents
- Willingness to learn from others with a flexible mindset of continuous improvement
- Ability to work autonomously and complete work in a timely manner to a high standard
- Embraces change with an open mind, and maintains a positive attitude during times of change
