Sales assistant permanent/ casual position.
As Sales assistant you will undertake training in all areas of the sales process including the product description and entry of data in our accounting system. The training will consist of in-house operations and occasionally sessions will be run by our suppliers. In addition to sales responsibilities, some office administrative duties are included in this position.
We are looking for a person who can problem solve and has the ability to learn quickly and respond to customer requirements in a friendly manner. The ability to use basic programs such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook is essential but some experience with Reckon, Quickbooks, MYOB or similar would be an advantage.
There will be a probationary period during which either party can terminate the agreement in writing giving suitable notification.
We offer a friendly and relaxed working environment and expect the applicant to be a member of our team working together and sharing experience and knowledge.
The store hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with 1 hour off for lunch and from 9am to 1pm Saturday. You would be required to work a minimum 20 hours per week depending on the season and up to 40 hours when required.
A driver's license is required as occasionally we may have to deliver a package and eventually, as product knowledge improves, we need someone who can go out and quote so the position has room for expansion.
