POSITION DESCRIPTION – SALES ASSISTANT
This position is for our Belconnen store!
Reporting to the Store Manager, as well as, the business owner, this role is responsible for supporting the store team to achieve the financial and branding objectives of the business.
Customer Service and Sales
- Contribute to the sales targets of the store by applying company selling steps at every customer interaction including on the shop floor and counters.
- complete customer transactions in accordance with store policy and procedures including correct operation of POS.
- ensure personal grooming and presentation is in accordance with company guidelines.
- Aim to provide product alternatives to customers, for items which have sold out, as a first option before transferring stock in
Shrinkage / Stock Manager
- developing security awareness at all times
- maintaining excellent stock administration standards in store
- ensuring that the receiving and transferring of merchandise is in accordance with company standards
- ensuring that the Code of Conduct is understood and followed at all times
Visual Merchandising and Housekeeping
- ensuring housekeeping of the store and reserve are as per company standards and as directed by the management team
- correctly receiving and transferring merchandise under the direction of the management team and in accordance with company procedures
- being aware of best and slow sellers and bringing this information to the attention of the management team
- merchandising stock as directed by the management team
HR and WHS
- Attend instore training and team meetings where required
- Following Work Health & Safety standards
- Participate in performance appraisals and complete induction training programs.
COMMUNICATION
- Maintain appropriate communication levels with internal and external customers
- Maintain clear lines of communication within the business
- Ensure you are punctual at all times
- Ensure you understand and follow the Policy and Procedures Manual
- Ensure all correspondence is actioned according to company standard.
- Work to support, promote and maintain harmonious working relationships within the business
- Attendance and participation at training sessions, planning days etc as required
- Maintain consistent cooperation with others, offering to help when needed, and consider larger organization or team goals rather than individual concerns. Ensure that your presentation is in accordance with guidelines.
