Reporting to the State Sales Manager VIC (East) and working from a home based office, you will be a disciplined and self-motivated individual who is proficient at time management and driven by a strong need to achieve.
This is an exciting time at Makita and your ability to assess new product and develop successful, long-term business relationships will be instrumental to your success. You will be flexible enough to be part of a team yet work autonomously as and when required.
Previous experience working with power tools and equipment will be looked upon favourably but is not essential. Familiarity with worksite situations and industrial environments is of benefit in this role.
Due to the high level of engagement with a diverse end user audience, you will be required to travel locally as well as interstate to participate in planned activities.
This role supports end users and our Eastern Victoria based sales team and may require overnight travel when requested by the business or position requirements.

You will be primarily responsible for:
- Building relationships with targeted end users for the purpose of product research and development.
- Working closely with key dealers and the Makita sales team to capitalise on opportunities.
- Performing product demonstrations and presentations.
- Responding to questions relating to market demands and new products.
- Actively seeking solutions to workplace challenges.
- Reporting feedback on products from trial clients as well as general market information.
What skills and experience will you bring to this role?
- Experience with power tools and equipment;
- Success working within a similar role;
- Relevant industry contacts.
- Demonstrated Sales and Customer Service experience;
- Finely tuned multi-level communication skills;
- Intermediate MS Office skills (i.e. PowerPoint, Word, Excel);
- Ability to react and adapt within a fast paced environment;
- The ability to travel to complete the job requirements effectively.
