Based in Melbourne Australia, the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC) is an automotive industry employer association that protects and promotes the interests of its members through advocacy initiatives and the provision of automotive industry products and services.
Founded in 1918, VACC today provides its members with access to a suite of support measures that assist them in running modern automotive businesses. These includes access to Australia’s largest automotive technical library, automotive-specific advice and assistance in human resources, workplace relations, OH&SE regulation training and compliance. VACC also employs more than 500 automotive apprentices through its group apprenticeship scheme facilitating placement with host employers in the industry.
VACC’s commercial arm, OurAuto, offers the latest technical information and business solutions, under the Our Auto brand, including diagnostic tools, insurance, digital marketing, solutions and website development and a suite of business consumables. While alliances, with trusted key suppliers provide members and customers with access to products and services at preferential rates.
About the role
VACC OurAuto is looking for an auto-industry qualified tradesperson or demonstrated technical sales experience to join the team. Based in Melbourne, this role will require you to travel to regional Victoria and interstate regularly to take our products to the next level of growth.
As a national team, we are a group of likeminded experienced automotive trade and Sales Professionals dedicated to assisting automotive businesses with technical solutions as well as presenting a digital suite of OurAuto marketing products.
If successful, you will have the opportunity to join our sales force as it continues to grow, while using the knowledge and experience gained over your career to help guide customers to a solution that best serves their business needs.
About you
As there will be quite a bit of travel involved to seek new business opportunities, being organised and a self-starter will be key to your success, but you’ll never feel alone as you will be given the support and guidance from the team to excel in your role.
If you can demonstrate all or most of the following skills, then we want to hear from you
- Clear and concise verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret written technical data and communicate it to tradespeople at all levels in plain English
- Solid understanding of vehicle systems and technology
- Strong customer service skills and desire to help others
- Team player
- Sound computer skills incl. Microsoft Office and databases
- Strong organisation skills incl. the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Availability to travel to regional Victoria and Interstate on a regular basis
