Sales Support Engineer

Job Description

As a Sales Support Engineer you have a broad role that sees you craft your customer's “end-to-end” solution. The role is ensuring that our Fixed Networks and Wi-Fi product solutions are designed and detailed ready for proposals and then contain the right detail for procurement and Installation by the Smart Communities Projects Team.

The  duties include, but are not limited to:

• Design and propose network solutions that meet the customer's needs and requirements.
• Conduct site surveys, produce detailed design documents and technical solutions and prepare associated Bill of Materials.
• Travel to various locations where required to successfully fulfil the role and engagement tasks.
• Ability to analyse competing products or proposals and provide recommendations to create competitive advantage.
• Assess and resolve potential technical or physical challenges for product success at a site.
• Ability to attend internal, prospect, client and supplier meetings virtually and in person.
• Work closely with the sales team to understand the customer's business objectives and challenges.
• Work with and mentor other teams about the design and solution.
• Prepare and document a solution for implementation by a project manager and project resources.
• Manage customer, supplier relationships through, task ownership, regular check-ins and support.
• Manage internal relationships with Projects, Engineering and Sales teams.
• Adhere to all company and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to self-manage customer projects, including scoping, communications and execution.
• Outstanding stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate strongly both in written and verbal form.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications or experience:

• Experience in a technical delivery or customer management role.
• Experience in deploying IT enterprise network solutions, large-scale Wi-Fi or FTTP, FTTB and fibre technologies with brands such as HPE Aruba, Ruckus, Juniper, Cisco, Nokia.
• Understanding of networking and cabling knowledge, especially for installation scoping and upgrades.
• Strong customer service ethic and communication skills.
• Drivers license and ability to travel.
• Ability to meet WH&S requirements as stipulated by the organisation or our customers - such as vaccinations, white card, children & police checks or other reasonable licenses.

• Equivalent certification to match the role and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and legislation.
