Job Overview:
As a Salesforce Data Migration Consultant, you will specialise in planning, executing, and managing Data Migration projects into the Salesforce platform. This role requires a deep understanding of Data Migration methodologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the seamless transfer of data. The consultant will play a pivotal role in maintaining data integrity, optimising processes, and ensuring a smooth transition for users.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Migration Planning:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand Data Migration requirements, including data mapping, formats, and business rules.
Develop comprehensive Data Migration plans, considering data cleansing, transformation, and validation processes.
Execution and Oversight:
Lead and execute end-to-end Data Migration projects, ensuring accurate and timely transfer of data to Salesforce.
Supervise Data Migration teams and coordinate with technical resources to implement migration scripts and tools.
Data Quality Assurance:
Implement data quality checks and validation procedures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of migrated data.
Address and resolve data discrepancies, collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams as needed.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with business users, administrators, and developers to gather requirements and align Data Migration strategies with business goals.
Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the progress of Data Migration projects.
Documentation:
Create comprehensive documentation for Data Migration processes, including data mapping, transformation rules, and validation procedures.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for future reference.
Training and Support:
Provide training to end-users on new data structures and functionalities post-migration.
Offer ongoing support for data-related inquiries and issues after migration.
Performance Optimisation:
Identify opportunities for optimising Data Migration processes for efficiency and performance.
- Conduct post-migration reviews to ensure that performance meets expectations.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology).
3-5 years of experience in data management and migration, operations or business analyst role
Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce Certified Data Architecture and Management Designer, are a plus.
Proven experience as a Salesforce Administrator or Consultant with a focus on data management.
Proven experience in Salesforce Data Migration projects, with a focus on planning and execution.
Strong understanding of Salesforce data architecture, object relationships, and data modelling principles.
Proficiency in Salesforce tools and features related to data, such as Data Loader and Workbench.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with Salesforce Data Loader, and other Data Migration tools.
Knowledge of ETL processes, data cleansing, and data transformation techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Experience with data governance and data quality initiatives.
Knowledge of integration tools and techniques, such as Salesforce Connect and MuleSoft.
Advanced knowledge of Excel; proficient in formulas, vlookups, pivot tables, macros
