Overall Forge is Australia's largest forging shop and operates as part of the Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC). Our plant in Albury is involved in the forging of nickel/alloy products for billet/bar applications and the production of complex nickel/alloy forgings for the aerospace, oil & gas and mining industries from alloys produced by our Perth facility.

About the role
The Sample Preparation Machinist is responsible for the preparation and machining of test pieces for mechanical testing.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and machine test steel and nickel pieces in preparation for laboratory testing
Interpret drawings and specifications
Willing to be trained in company systems and laboratory procedures
Provide relevant reporting and KPI's to the Laboratory Supervisor
Ensure that the laboratory complies with all statutory regulation codes and practices
Ensure equipment is maintained and operating correctly
Be an effective member of the laboratory team
Follow all guidelines as set out in the Company Policy Manual
Work in a safe and methodical manner
Maintain a clean work environment
Drive continuous improvement in the laboratory.
Actively manage testing to ensure smooth progress of the job
Ensure that test results are recorded and that documentation is completed and passed to the next production process in a timely manner
To carry out tasks with limited or no supervision
Comply with and ensure compliance with PCC Ethics code of conduct.
Comply with and ensure compliance PCC Cardinal Rules of Quality.

Skills and experience
Prior work experience in an industrial / metal manufacturing environment combined with practical work experience driving forklifts would be an advantage.
A valid forklift licence is beneficial, but we will support the right applicant to gain this skill if necessary.
This role requires a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check Certificate to be obtained prior to the company making an offer of employment to the preferred candidate in order to meet the requirements of the company’s Defence Industry Security Program, Known Consignor Program and Trusted Trader Program.
