About the role

Exciting opportunities are available for Senior Sample Preparersand Entry Level Sample Preparers to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility in Maddington WA. 

Sample Preparers prepare mineral samples for laboratory analysis by operating machinery which crushes, splits, pulverises raw mineral samples. The duties and remuneration offered to candidates will vary according to experience and skillset, and full on-the-job training will be provided for those new to this role.  The primary responsibilities of the role include:

• Sorting, Weighing and Drying samples,
• Operating mills, splitters, and crushers,
• Bagging samples, and
• Following all Intertek policies and procedures, including regarding safety, production, quality, and human resources.

New employees also have the opportunity to undertake a fully funded on-the-job traineeship in Certificate III in Laboratory Skills which provides a great foundation to progress a laboratory career with Intertek!

Explore work-life balance with our different rostering options to suit your lifestyle. Rosters available are a 7-days on 7-days off, 7-nights on, 7-nights off (12-hour shifts) or a Monday to Friday rotating shift roster consisting of morning, afternoon and night shifts. Limited casual opportunities are also available.  Sample Preparation is a dusty environment, and Sample Preparers are required to work in environmental temperatures. 

Selection criteria

Applicants must possess the following: 

• Ability to travel to and from Maddington
• The ability to work as part of a team,
• The ability to perform manual handling, stand for long periods and regularly lift 15 – 20kg safely.
• Previous experience in Sample Prep is highly desirable however candidates with a labouring, production or processing background and/or FIFO utilities experience are also highly regarded and encouraged to apply.
