The Role
The Environmental Division in Springvale are looking for a new Staff member for a Sample Receipt Officers role to join a well-established team.  This role is primarily a laboratory support role to support the success and efficiency of laboratory testing ensuring all results are released on time.
This is a fast-paced and varied role that will see you unpacking and sorting with accuracy. 
The day to day
  • Receive clients’ deliveries and confirm samples meet the testing requirements.
  • Process incoming sample deliveries into the laboratory including the sorting and labelling of samples.
  • Read and understand client Chain of Custody (CoC) documentation.
  • Log samples in the LIMS system with accuracy.
  • Organise and follow up of freight pick-ups for internal and interstate samples.
  • Liaising with clients (internal and external) regarding sample submissions
  • Help manage shared mailbox relevant to sample area.
  • Maintaining filing systems and documentation
  • Perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Maintaining an excellent standard of occupational health and safety
  
The Essentials
  
  • Science degree qualified or science background with relevant experience
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
  • Good presentation, professional attitude, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated reliability and efficiency.
  • Ability to absorb and retain information.
  • Flexible and adaptable with day shifts and overtime when required.
  • Ability to process large volumes of samples and records efficiently and within strict timeframes.
