The successful candidate will be motivated, well organised and have a focus on delivering high quality results to clients in a timely manner. They will be able to prioritise, coordinate and prepare samples efficiently to assist the internal and external testing laboratories to meet deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the general direction of the Sample Receipt Team Leader conduct Sample Receipt and processing.
- Assist with outsourcing tasks and maintain outsource records to enable tracking and traceability ensuring outsourcing is done in a timely and accurate manner.
- Liaise with laboratory areas regarding appropriate and timely processing of samples received.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed and the receipt and outsource areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Assist with other Laboratory Services duties when required. This could include duties such as housekeeping and handling and storing of consumables received.
Ideally you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Science and demonstrated relevant work experience
- Successful history of working collaboratively in a scientific workplace environment to achieve departmental objectives
- Sound documentation skills in accordance to in house quality procedures
- Flexibility and ability to work in a team environment
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
