The role of the genU SAVVI (Supporting Accommodation for Vulnerable Victorians Initiative) Supporting Connections Worker aims to support improvements to the wellbeing of Supported Residential Services (SRS) residents with complex behaviours to provide support, build capacity and address barriers and help them live the life they want. You will educate and support stakeholders on how to best manage resident behaviours, meet their individual needs and increase their confidence, independence, social participation and community access!
This is part-time (0.6 fte - 22.8 hours per week), 12 month fixed-term position based in Geelong, Victoria.
About You
Our ideal SAVVI Supporting Connections Worker will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Significant experience in human services discipline, particularly; community welfare and case/care management
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including counselling, negotiation and networking
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret public policy, prepare reports and develop innovative solutions
  • Understanding and ability to implement services within the Welfare and Disability industry
  • Ability to forge and maintain collaborative partnerships with clients, agencies and funding bodies.
You will also meet the following essential requirements:
  • Minimum Cert IV in Community Services or equivalent or relevant tertiary qualification with relevant experience in a human service discipline particularly community welfare, medical, case/care management
  • Current Victorian Drivers license
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
  • Current NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate or willingness to obtain
