Additional information:

The short term contract is due to the defined period of the existing funding contract, which is expected to be renewed along with this position. The Sydney Cord Blood Bank has operated under rolling, renewed funding contracts for over 20 years. The goal of this recruitment is to fill the position for the long term (i.e. it is not a temporary position).
What you'll be doing
To participate in all areas of manufacture of cord blood units for transplantation, and in quality management activities related to the laboratory, material and equipment according to GMP standards and all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • A degree in Science from an approved university or college of advanced education requiring a minimum of three years full-time study.
  • Demonstrated practical experience in the field of pathology, haematology or blood/ tissue banking, preferably in a TGA-licensed or NATA-accredited laboratory.
  • Excellent demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice.
  • Experience with database applications.
