The Children's Hospital at Westmead are seeking a Dental Officer, Level 2 to join the team from 5 February 2024.
The position of Paediatric Dental Officer at The Children's Hospital at Westmead will provide quality oral health care to both inpatients and out-patients, attend clinics and departmental meetings and in-service training as determined by the Head of the Dental services Department.
- The Paediatric Dental Officer will also assist with coordinating approximately 10 clinics per week as well as the theatre and emergency lists.
- Registered as a Dentist with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
- Significant hospital based experience in paediatric dentistry (minimum 50% over 2 years preferable)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals
- Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, with a willingness to participate in the teaching of dental students, dental staff and other clinical staff
- Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time

Applicants must have completed the COVID-19 vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
ASARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) 2 primary doses are required for Category A positions (refer to NSW Policy Directive PD2023_022 Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases).
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the
seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate.
