Casual School Holiday Program Assistant

• $28.98 per hour + 25% casual loading + super
• Working with Children Check required
• Position will commence in July 2024 (School Holidays)

About Ku-ring-gai CouncilLocated 16 km’s north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales’ most attractive natural environments.About the roleReporting to the Vacation Care Coordinator, you will assist in the delivery of a high quality School Holiday Program for up to 60 children between the ages of 5 and 13 years as part of Council’s Vacation Care Program.Duties

• Assist in the planning of the Vacation Care Program
• Supervise, care for and actively interact with children in a range of activities
• Provide support to children in a fun, creative and inspiring environment
• Document children’s play and learning
• Establish relationships with families, the community, and local schools
• Prepare and clear away materials as directed

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Experience working with children in OOSH Service or Long Day Care
• Experience providing age relevant activities and the ability to interact well with children
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and families
• Working with Children clearance number
• First Aid Certificate
• Identify and respond to children and young people at risk certificate (CHCPRT001)
