School Support Officer
Temporary, Part time Position (51.7 hours/ fortnight)
Commencing: ASAP by negotiation - End Term 4 2024
About the Role
The School Support Officer will support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality instruction to students in a Catholic Primary School setting. The role will involve working with small groups of students or individual students who require additional assistance to achieve their full potential. The School Support Officer will work collaboratively with the teaching staff and other school personnel to support the learning and development of students within a Catholic school environment. This position will actively promote the Vision and Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese and support students with their curriculum and learning.
The School Support Officer will support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality instruction to students in a Catholic School setting. The role will involve:
Providing in-class support for teachers and their students with learning needs
Supporting and supervising students with Additional learning needs in and out of the classroom environment
Facilitating the remedial reading program (MacqLit)
Assisting with data collection and maintenance for legislative compliance (NCCD)
Administrative tasks in support of NCCD and disability provisions
Input into the planning and implementation of Personal Learning Plans
Collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure the inclusion of all students in all learning experiences
Applying appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment
About You
