Teacher Level (EDU)
Salary Range: $84,978 - $121,038 (PN: 45732)
This role requires a Classroom Teacher with excellent interpersonal and project management skills to coordinate the Science Mentors ACT program. Science Mentors ACT forms part of the Academy of Future Skills, a business unit with the LWPD branch. Science Mentors ACT provides ACT public school students in Years 9 to 12 with the opportunity to work with science and engineering professionals on extended student-driven investigations.

Eligibility/Other requirements
Mandatory
- A minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification.
- Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (or eligibility to obtain).
- A current registration issued by Access Canberra under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the ACT scientific/research community
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 31 October 2024, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
