Our Corporate Head Office is located in Gordonvale, just south of Cairns, and our major milling assets are located in the Far North. Internationally, we are part of the Thai-based Mitr Phol Group. Our current assets include three sugar mills, which are located at Gordonvale, South Johnstone and the Tablelands, supporting infrastructure (including cane railway networks), agricultural property and water rights to support our cane growing activities.

In addition to our milling and farming operations, we have built an $86M green energy power station at our Tablelands Sugar Mill. The power station uses a 100% renewable sugarcane fibre known as bagasse to produce 24 megawatts of electricity – which, after commissioning, will be enough to power every house in the Tablelands region.

The Roles

MSF Sugar employs additional staff on a seasonal basis each year to assist our operations during the cane crushing season. Seasonal employees will usually be contracted from June to December, depending on operational requirements. These are seasonal positions, located at our South Johnstone Mill, which is approximately 10km west of Innisfail. 

Seasonal positions on offer for the 2024 crushing season include:

• RSU/Locomotive Driver
• Locomotive Driver
• Locomotive Drivers Assistant
• Casual Locomotive Driver Pool
• Comms/Admin

Manual Drivers Licence is mandatory for all positions.

As our operations are continuous (24/7), seasonal positions involve shift work. Before submitting your application, you will need to ensure you are available to work all hours required on a rostered, rotational basis.
