The Company
Our client is one of Australia's leading aged care providers - family run for over 40 years providing premium residences and dedication to the highest standards of aged care services. We are currently seeking a casual Second Chef to work onsite at their Noosaville residence.
Please note applicants will be shortlisted and placed on a Standby List for immediate consideration.
The Position
As the Second Chef your responsibilities will include:
- Reporting to the Head Chef you'll work to a set menu & schedule
- Prepare and present appetizing and physically appealing, delicious and nutritious meals for residents
- Fostering a positive dining experience
- Tailor meals in line with dietary requirements and texture modified diets
- Ensure meals are up to presentation standards
- Work to a fast pace and ensure meals are sent out in a timely manner
- Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy and stock is replenished
- May be required to step in and wash dishes and clean floors
- Comply to food safety hygiene and food handling procedures
Roster: Monday & Tuesday - 0630-1330 / Saturday & Sunday - 0900-1700
The Successful Applicant
To be considered for this opportunity you must meet the following criteria:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Previous kitchen experience within the Aged Care, Health or Hospital industry
- Experience within Aged Care food service or working with vulnerable persons
- Excellent customer service
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge and compliance of food safety and handling standards
- Ability to work at a fast pace if required
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Hold a current Drivers Licence
Applicants must have the ability to complete a Police Check. COVID-19 and a current year flu vaccination mandatory. Qualifications will be requested and checked for shortlisted applicants when required.
