The Role Description
The Helpdesk Officer is an integral part of the technical support team at Simonds Catholic College, providing support and assistance to staff, students and parents. The Helpdesk officer is primarily responsible in managing the school’s device deployment, configuration and troubleshooting.
The position is part-time (0.6 FTE) for a fixed term until Dec 20, 2024.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical users
- Active listening skills to understand users' needs and concerns, and provide appropriate solutions
- Patience and empathy in handling user inquiries and technical support requests
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
Specific Duties:
The Helpdesk Officer is the first point of contact for technical support to students and staff via phone and email. The role encompasses skills in troubleshooting hardware and software problems and performing repairs in a timely manner, installing, configuring and maintaining software application and updates across multiple platforms, monitoring and maintaining all IT inventory, and assist in managing and maintaining the school’s network infrastructure. This role is also required to collaborate with the IT team to implement and enforce data privacy and security protocols.
Remuneration
This position will be a part-time fixed term position. Depending upon qualifications and experience, the salary will be in the range of a Level 2 Education Support Employee Category C under the Victorian Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022.
