As the Department Head - of English, you will work collaboratively with members of the Executive and Leadership Team to provide educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision and encouraging school staff, volunteers from the community, and others to share ownership of the school's vision and goals in respect of the relevant area of responsibility.

About You
You are dedicated, and passionate and possess the following:
- Strong leadership qualities to provide critical support to the Head of Department and effectively lead the department's staff.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to implement initiatives, project delivery, and change management.
- A high degree of technical knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional learning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to advise and liaise across all levels of an organization and with parents and guardians.
- The ability to work collaboratively with other members of staff and lead others.
- Administrative and organizational skills.
- Commitment to the full life of an Independent school and a willingness to engage in School activities outside of regular hours.
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (Master's preferred) - VIT registered
- Proven experience teaching VCE English with encouraging results
- Confidence in delivering the curriculum outcomes and planning outstanding lessons that engage and extend the students.
- The ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
- Proven ability to incorporate technology into the curriculum
- Have unrestricted work rights in Australia
