About the Role
Located at our Tuncurry Campus, this Fixed-term Part Time teaching position is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of program delivery and includes involvement in group leadership of the student body. The days of work will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
In this part-time role, successful applicants should be able to confidently:
- Uphold the Atwea College and Alesco Senior College philosophies and values
- Actively participate in the following:
o Student orientation, graduation, school open days
o School excursions
o Maintaining classroom facilities and equipment
o Basic student or course counselling
- Participate and contribute to curriculum development and implementation.
- Report on student progress as required.
- Identify and execute alternative learning strategies and methods of delivery.
- Effectively deliver lessons, supervise students, and report any incidents, accidents, or potential issues to the Head of Campus.
- Build and maintain supportive relationships with each student in the group.
- Attend and participate in meetings and professional development programs
- Follow the outcomes to design program content, and assessments that use a range of educational resources
- Submit programming as requested
- Identify and respond to the students educational or personal support needs
About You

- Mental health first aid certificate or training.
- Senior first aid certificate.
- Experience in an alternative or special education setting.
- Experience working with disadvantaged and at-risk young people.
- Uses empathy to build trust and nurture lasting relationships.
- Demonstrates forward-thinking and awareness of the consequences of own actions.
- Proactively manages career and professional development in a mutually beneficial partnership with the Organisation.

Atwea College requires:
- Valid NSW Working With Children Check and current National Criminal Police Record Check prior to the commencement of employment.
- Child Protection Training, or willingness to obtain.
