Sydney Secondary College Blackwattle Bay is the senior campus of a campus collegiate, a vibrant, multi campus setting in the inner city, comprising of Blackwattle Bay (Year 11-12) as well as two Year 7-10 campuses (Leichhardt and Balmain). Blackwattle Bay Campus, located on the foreshore of Blackwattle Bay, Glebe, is a culturally diverse, partially selective school with an enrolment of approximately 820 senior students. The campus caters for students with a range of learning needs. It has an extensive curriculum with a strong focus on academic achievement, creative and performing arts and vocational education. The school has a commitment to the collegial development of quality teaching and learning programs for senior students, the integration of technology in teaching, wellbeing programs, student leadership and student voice. Innovative features include extensive technological resources, strong mentoring and transition programs for Stage 6 students. The successful applicant will be appointed to Sydney Secondary College and based at Blackwattle Bay Campus.
Approval to teach Food Technology. Approval to teach or preparedness to undertake Vocational Education and Training (VET) teacher training in Hospitality - Commercial Cookery and/or Hospitality - Food and Beverage, providing the qualification entry benchmark is met.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and contribute to the development and delivery of innovative faculty programs.
Demonstrated ability to integrate a range of explicit and effective teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of a wide range of senior students with proven ability to improve student learning outcomes.
Highly developed communication skills with the capacity to contribute to whole school initiatives.
