About West Moreton Anglican College

West Moreton Anglican College (WestMAC) is a dynamic Prep to Year 12 co-educational Anglican school that promotes a balanced schooling experience. Our innovative teachers challenge students to engage actively in their own learning; become critical, creative and entrepreneurial thinkers; and to develop emotionally, socially and spiritually. The College offers diverse opportunities to inspire students to uncover their individual potential.

The College motto – Faith, Knowledge, Service – offers insight into the values that unite our community. These attributes connect to the mission of the Anglican Church and the overarching Christian values that guide the operations and direction at the College.

About the role

This is a part-time (0.7 FTE), fixed term (5 weeks) position commencing in Term 2 2024.

You will enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth delivery of an interesting and innovative Economics and Business program that students seek to engage in.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively plan and deliver engaging lessons and assessment programs that maximise learning outcomes for students.
  • Implement programs with diligence, commitment and sensitivity to the individual needs of learners, differentiating learning experiences and assessment opportunities as appropriate.
  • Measure and monitor the progress of individuals and groups of children as learning programs proceed, instigating the involvement of internal and external diagnostic tools (NAPLAN) and the like to determine appropriate intervention.
  • Apply a working knowledge of the curriculum and learning programs that precede and follow the current teaching, learning and assessment programs being developed and implemented.
  • Develop a climate of trust with colleagues, students and parents.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications
  • Queensland teacher registration.
  • The capacity to integrate technology into effective classroom practice.
  • Ability to teach Economics and Business to senior students.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to work constructively with students, parents, teachers and staff.

We offer the opportunity to work with a great College community on a naturally beautiful rural 38-hectare campus (free parking!) conducive to improved staff and student wellbeing and life-long learning.  There are a range of employee benefits available, including a well-stocked tuck-shop on site, EAP, and much more.

West Moreton Anglican College is committed to providing an environment where children and young people receive the highest standard of care, where their rights are supported, and they have the opportunity to thrive and be fruitful. As such, the successful applicant will be expected to adhere to the College’s policies and procedures relevant to student care and protection.

Please visit our website for more information about the College.

Please apply through SEEK, and ensure your application contains a cover letter and your CV.

Applicants seeking more information about the position should contact the Human Resources Advisor, Matthew Graham, via email *******@wmac.com.au or telephone (07) 3813 4***.

West Moreton Anglican College is an equal opportunity employer and values an inclusive and diverse workforce.
