Postino Osteria is going to be Summer Hills’ newest traditional Italian neighbourhood osteria.
It’s a wine bar. It’s a restaurant. It’s an events space.
It’s casual and affordable, without compromising on quality. Our menu will have a selection of delicious well-made dishes, including snacks, daily specials and pastas using locally sourced ingredients that showcases
Italian cuisine at its’ best. All of which will be beautifully complimented with a wonderful cocktail list and specially curated cellar.
We are seeking experienced Section Waiters to join our opening team to service what will be a busy 120 capacity venue. We will cater for a la carte service, group bookings and special events.
You will work alongside our management team to bring Postino Osteria to life from the ground up. We value bubbly and engaging personalities, Italian hospitality, and passion in our team members, so if you have prior experience with Italian cuisine and are ready to showcase your hospitable, charismatic, and neighbourhood-loving personality, we want to hear from you!
Essential Requirements:
- Australian working rights
- Hold a current NSW RSA Certificate
- Fluent in English
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Section Waiter
- Great memory for faces with the ability to create rapport with our customers
- Prior experience using POS for order taking
- Ability to keep cool under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent grooming standards
Preferred Requirements:
- Formal hospitality studies completed
- Italian food & wine knowledge
- Food & wine pairing experience
- Experience with SevenRooms or other online reservations platform
- Speak Italian? Bonus!
Your duties will include:
- Managing your section during service and ensuring a positive guest experience
- Readying the restaurant for service, ensuring your section is fully stocked and cleaned, ready to receive our customers.
- Prior use of hospitality POS for order management
- Providing menu recommendations and explaining our food philosophy to our guests
- Food & beverage matching recommendations
- Taking customer orders accurately
- Checking if your guests have any dietary requirements
- Open communication with both FOH & BOH to streamline service
- Checking on customer tables to see if any issues with their food / service
- Checking bill accuracy and bill presentation to customers
- Process cash & card payments
