YOUR NEW ROLE

The Security Duty Manager is responsible for leading and managing the day to day security operations and emergency response to ensuring a safe and secure site and strong SOH security posture. The Security Duty Manager ensures the security operations team (including Venue Security Managers and indirectly Control Room Operators and Fire Safety Offers) comply with SOH policies, guidelines and standard operating procedures to ensure the team is prepared for emergency response and that public safety and security is monitored at all times. 

This role will be responsible for providing strong leadership and developing strong rapport with team members through regular coaching, providing timely feedback and professional development opportunities to the team, whilst fostering an inclusive and respectful culture.

This position in conjunction with the Emergency Planning & Response Group (EPRG) Management team also assists with developing and implementing security plans taking into consideration infrastructure, resourcing and key stake holders such as presenters and members of the public. 

As a leadership position within the EPRG team this role will also be skilled to cover Control Room, Fire Safety and Chief Warden in the event of an emergency, liaising with emergency services to minimise loss of life and damage to property or heritage values.

ARE YOU THE ONE?

We are looking for:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ management experience based with the Security/ Emergency Planning Response industry.
  • Certificate IV or above in related security or management discipline.
  • Comprehensive experience in contributing to the planning and delivery of high profile security and safety services for dignitaries and in liaising with outside agencies and emergency services.
  • Specialised knowledge, skills and management experience of contemporary operational security, control room operations and/or Fire safety  teams within a complex environment is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal communication and people management skills to manage conflict and grievance.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills to ensure compliance around incident reports and investigations. 
  • NSW SLED 1A Security Licence (2A is advantageous), NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol accreditation, Provide First Aid certificate and Valid NSW WWCC clearance.
  • Knowledge of relevant Security and Safety Legislation.
