Job Summary: Allied World is looking for an Engineer who enjoys security work and possesses both deep and wide expertise in the security space. People in this role must be extremely good at problem solving and have strong technical ability and communication skills. They must be able to deal with ambiguity and be able to understand and provide solutions to complex problems.
Job Duties
· Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks, and information.
· Identify and define system security requirements.
· Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs.
· Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols.
· Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
· Assist on designing endpoint agent deployment to provide 100% coverage in and out of the enterprise.
· Research emerging threats and vulnerabilities
· Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for further system security enhancement.
· Flexible in working hours and available afterhours/weekends during service outages and project rollouts.
Job Requirements:
· 6+ years’ Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, SIEM, etc.
· 5+ years’ work experience as a System Security Engineer or related position
· 3+ years of hands-on experience with automating task with Python.
· Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
· Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
· Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
· Familiarity with vulnerability management and attack simulation tools.
· Triage alerts. While resolving in a timely manner
· Self-starter and ability to multi-task the workday around assigned activities and prioritize with minimum supervision.
