- $93,419 Package includes salary $79,860 - $83,150, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
NSW Department of Education has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced individual to join the School Infrastructure NSW in Blacktown as a Security Technician.
About the role
Maintain and repair a variety of alarm, video surveillance, access control and other security systems that are installed in schools and provide end-users with instruction and advice in regard to the use of those systems.

About you
- Ability to work in accordance with an after-hours on-call roster when required.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Current NSW Drivers Licence - class C
- Willingness and ability to work in accordance with an after-hours on-call roster when required
- Possession of the competence and experience required by a Class 2C Security Licence. (NB. Security Technicians employed by the Central Services unit are not required to hold a security licence due to an exemption provided by the Security Industry Regulation 2016.)
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education

Describe a situation where you were explaining technical information, and the other person didn't understand. How did you handle that and what was the result? (Max 300 words)

Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.
As a condition of employment, successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number. This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC's validity (up to 5 years)
