We have the opportunity for an experienced Hooklift driver to come on board & operate our brand new FYJ Isuzu Automatic twin-steer hook bin truck.
You will be well compensated with a pay-rate of $40.00 per hour, 100% Gold Coast based work, 50 - 60 hours each week & a brand new truck to operate.
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Complete prestart activities, planning your day’s work, completing any necessary paperwork
- Loading and unloading hook bins
- Driving a Brand new IZUZU Automatic hook Truck
- Keeping regular communication with base whilst completing runs
- Keeping your truck well maintained, clean, and in full working order
- Reporting any incidents or damage incurred to your vehicle while on runs
- Basic communication with customers when picking up, dropping off or changing over bins
- Looking for opportunities to increase business and efficiency
- Assistance with other yard duties when bin hire work is limited
- Getting out of the truck and helping excavator operator with sorting
- Occasionally covering other staff, including some weekend work
Experience & qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ prior experience with truck driving
- Manual HR licence, preference for HC licence
- Great communication & interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of QLD motor and road rules
- Knowledge of chain of responsibility & fatigue management obligations
- Physical ability to tarp loads and get in and out of trucks safely
- Reliable punctuality
- Efficiency in the job with an emphasis on safety
