Role
Join us at Kaplan Professional as an Academic or Senior Academic specialising in Financial Advice. In these roles, you will lead and contribute to the development, review, and evaluation of learning and assessment materials across Higher Education (HE), Vocational Education (VE), Continuing Education (CE), International, Non-award, and bespoke programs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring an optimal learning experience for students through the creation and updating of educational content and assessments.
Responsibilities
- Content Development: Research, write, and update educational content to meet educational standards and governance requirements
- Collaboration: Conduct in-field interviews, collaborate with external subject matter experts (SMEs), and work closely with instructional designers and multimedia producers to create multimedia content, including videos and motion graphics
- Quality Assurance: Ensure content and assessments are developed to the appropriate academic level (including AQF7 or above where applicable) within approved timelines to meet production schedules
- Teaching and Delivery (Senior Academic): Potentially engage in online teaching and related activities, including content creation and delivery at AQF7-level or above
- Interactive Learning: Collaborate with the Multimedia and Design team to develop interactive activities for workshops, interactive sessions, and formal assessments
- Governance and Committees: Participate in academic committees and meet governance requirements as necessary to uphold educational standards
Requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in Financial Advice (essential)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the Financial Advice industry (essential)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in learning design and delivery within higher education and/or vocational education environments (essential)
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end multimedia educational content development including scoping outlines, learning outcomes, writing assessments and creating learning artefacts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry/professional association codes
- Understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements impacting the industry
- Proven ability to convey complex ideas in a user-friendly manner, utilising multimedia formats
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet tight production deadlines
- Ability to collaborate with Instructional Designers and Multimedia Producers in the production of multimedia content
