We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant for an immediate start, with the position lasting until 31 August 2024. This role requires financial accounting and reporting experience, preferably within the QLD government.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Accounting and Asset Management: Contribute to the financial accounting and asset management functions, including the preparation of annual financial statements, asset revaluations, and Tridata submissions.
- Professional Advice: Provide high-level professional and technical advice to senior management and service areas regarding financial accounting reporting requirements, assets, and tax-related issues.
- Month-End Processes: Oversee end-of-month processes, including reviewing the general ledger and accruals journals.
- Manual and Procedure Development: Develop and maintain the Financial Management Practice Manual and related procedures, and provide necessary advice.
- Relationship Management: Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the organization and across government, liaising effectively and representing the organization in negotiations.
- Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as directed by the Manager, Financial Accounting.
