What is unique about you?
With comprehensive accounting experience, you are confident in your ability to oversee the finances of a complex organisation. You know how to work to the highest standards and thrive in a dynamic environment, managing competing priorities. You expertly model business projects, forecasts and take pride in producing detailed financial analysis. You possess a strong understanding of budgeting, funding systems and grant structures.
A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience and previous exposure to arts, not-for-profit or funding-reliant settings are highly desirable. Above all, you are a genuine, communicative, approachable individual who enjoys being part of a team, participating in purpose- driven work to make a difference in your community.
A snapshot of your role….
- Prepare and analyse monthly reports to the CEO and bi-monthly board reports. Perform Company Secretarial duties such as the preparation of board papers, attendance and minuting of the board meetings, induction of new directors and support with high-level governance matters
- Sign off payroll for outsourced processing, revise and approve Xero processed accounts. Oversee cash reserves and term deposits, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards, IFRS, ASIC and ACNC regulations
- Create and structure the annual budget, monitoring project expenditures, developing the foundation's P&L and reporting the finances to the board of directors
- Supervise two direct reports across the sponsorship, philanthropy management and executive office functions, overseeing sponsorship contracts and signing off major grants
- Work with the CEO to plan the strategic directives and model business analysis, identifying and mitigating financial risks, making recommendations and improving processes for maximum profitability and sustainable growth
