Our client is a growing consulting firm based in Parramatta, New South Wales. They provide business mentoring and consulting services to small and medium business owners, and help them grow and reach their level of success.
The company is looking for a Senior Accountant with solid communication and organizational skills.
The ideal candidate has proven experience in organizing and processing working papers in a life cycle of accounting process and compliance requirements.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of work papers of a life cycle of accounting such as but not limited to -- Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger Maintenance and Bookkeeping Balance sheet reconciliations. Accounts Payable/Receivable management.
- Processing up to Trial Balance stage and preparing financial statements for lodgment with the Australian Taxation Office
- Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts and reports of superannuation and income projections
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts and by general ledger verifying, allocating by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
- Produces payroll by initiating computer processing; printing checks, verifying finished product
- Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
- Conduct research, analysis, development, and summarization of financial information for audit purposes and financial reporting and to perform the financial administration and reporting of federal and state grants
- Preparation of the statutory financial accounts and regulatory returns for self-managed superannuation funds
- Reconciliation of asset holdings and processing of corporate actions
- Preparation of minimum and maximum pension calculations
- Generate income for all investments income and auto match
Admin, Tax Management & Reporting
- Prepare and complete the required tax reporting and update tax provision schedules in a timely manner
- Devise tax strategies to defer or eliminate tax payments.
- Prepare private tax returns, trust, partnership tax returns and End of year compliance jobs
- Reconcile GST that has gone through the fund versus on paid accounts with ATO. Manually match any remaining transactions ensuring to create rules for all recurring transactions
- Conduct research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filings and negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues
- Supervise junior staff and offer open lines of communication in between the management to ensure targets are met.
In order to be considered for this role, the successful candidate must have the following key attributes, skills, and strengths:
Your Technical and Relevant work experience
- Bachelors Degree in Accountancy
- Qualified CPA or soon to be
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Preferably with knowledge in accounting software like XERO, XPM, FYI Docs
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office tools or similar
