About the role
We are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Accounts Clerk to join the M&B sales team based out of our Bayswater branch and reporting through to our Finance Manager.
The role:
- Maintain the debtor’s ledger by assuring relevant transactions are processed in the accounting system.
- Achieve credit control by pursuing debt collection and ensuring trading terms are adhered to.
- Maintain creditors ledger by assuring relevant transactions are processed in the accounting system.
- Process trade account applications and requests for credit limit increases.
- Supervision of AR and AP clerks
- Attend to customer and supplier queries internal and external
- Liaise with the other department in regards to customer and supplier queries as required
- Maintain customer data base
- Reconcile major debtor accounts
- Monthly and weekly reporting on key specifics
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a Senior Accounts Clerk or similar role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities / able to work to deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to work on a diverse range of duties
- Self-motivated and able to work both as part of a team and unsupervised
- Team player with a positive outlook
- Negotiation and Decision-Making Skills
- Diploma in accounting desirable
