Senior Actuarial Analyst / Actuary (Pricing & Analytics)

Due to an internal career move, we are seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst/Actuary, specialising in pricing and analytics to foster profitable growth and strategic risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Pricing and Risk Analytics: Employ statistical modeling for sustainable pricing, determine target loss ratios, and contribute to strategic pricing models and product development.
- Customer Analytics: Develop a monitoring framework for Guild's digital strategy and conduct propensity modeling for customer retention and acquisition.
- Team Coaching and Support: Contribute to team strategy, coach junior members, and actively participate in projects as required.
- Strategy and Corporate Analysis: Provide data for budgets and business planning, support insurance liabilities valuation, and contribute to Guild's regulatory compliance.
- Tertiary qualification in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, statistics, etc.)
- Ideally an Associate or Fellow of the Actuaries Institute Australia (or working towards)
- Experience gained in general insurance (personal and/or commercial lines)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in actuarial pricing work with knowledge of statistical modeling techniques
- Proficiency in SAS, SQL, Excel, and VBA
- An added advantage would also be some working experience of R, Python or Tableau
- Strong analytical, numerical, and modeling skills
- An inquisitive mind with a passion for deriving insights from data.
- Ability to present complex ideas to senior executives in an easily interpretable manner.
- Influencing skills to drive actionable decisions.
- Capable of managing multiple projects under tight timelines, meeting deadlines and managing stakeholder expectations accordingly.
