About the role

The Grade 4 Senior Clinical Psychologist role will

• Provide high quality Clinical Psychology consultation, assessment and management to people admitted to Adult and Older Adult Inpatient Services.
• Provide professional expertise and consultation internal and external to the organisation on key issues of a clinical psychology nature including service development, or policy development and procedures in areas requiring expert clinical psychology knowledge.
• Support provision of evidence-based clinical psychology assessment, consultation, education and training.  

in addition to:

• Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the clinical psychology service.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to more junior Clinical Psychologists, team members and students.
• Promote Adult and Older Adult MHWP as an area of interest for new psychologists via presentation and evaluation and service activities.
• Advise on the suitability / viability of research activities.
• Participate in and actively lead a working environment of quality improvement, evidence based practice, and reflective thinking amongst all staff.
• Contribute to research and evaluation projects in the service and apply for external grants where appropriate to support such projects.
• Participate in and assist staff in fostering skills in research and utilisation in outcome measures for effective use of resources and improved client outcomes.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

 Qualifications:

•  A Masters or Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology
• Current general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia
• Board Approved Supervisor status, recognised by AHPRA
• Eligibility for membership of the College of Psychologists of the Australian Psychological Society

  Essential:

• Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and to formulate and implement appropriate evidence based interventions that are consistent with best practice in Clinical Psychology.
• 10 Years of clinical experience post-qualification (General Registration as a Psychologist).
• Experience in adult and older adult mental health.
• Proven ability and commitment to work collaboratively with consumers, significant carers, members of multidisciplinary team and external agencies.
• Highly developed written, IT and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate a capacity to work in a multi-disciplinary team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrate a commitment to maintain up to date clinical and management knowledge by regular attendance at conferences and workshops or other professional development activities.
• Demonstrated commitment to reflective practice
• A current Victorian Drivers Licence.
