Job description

  • Central Adelaide Local Health Network, The Royal Adelaide Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital
  • Salary  AHP-3    $102,641 - $110,094 p.a.
  • Full-time/part-time temporary up to 2/5/25
  • Multiple positions: Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Social Workers
  • Be part of a dynamic, collaborative and supportive team
  • Work across both acute and community settings in a rewarding and diverse caseload

About the Role:

We are recruiting experienced Occupational Therapists (OT’s), Social Workers (SW’s) and Physiotherapists (PT’s) in a diverse role that enables them to advocate for patients and support people to avoid hospital and remain at home. While based in the Emergency Department (ED), the Emergency Multidisciplinary Assessment Team (EMAT) support and facilitate discharge across the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

These positions present a unique opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge to broaden their acute or community sector skills by working across both settings simultaneously. With no two days alike, the EMAT work collaboratively with a varied clinical caseload, sharing expertise and skills in the best interests of our patients.

Using a ‘home first’ approach and acknowledging that every day in a patient’s journey matters, EMAT is committed to hospital avoidance, improving patient outcomes and supporting timely discharge back to the community. Our team is flexible and adaptable, interchanging between working in the ED and community setting using service streams such as Discharge to Assess. With a focus on early assessment and intervention, we develop strong working relationships with the wider multidisciplinary teams within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) and external community services.

EMAT OT’s, SW’s and PT’s have advanced clinical skills and knowledge relevant to their specific discipline and participate in quality improvement, research and education to support best practice and optimise service delivery.

We offer flexibility with a range of options available including full time and part time positions.

Please see role descriptions for further information.
