As the Snr Cost Analyst you will support the development and delivery of the Group cost allocation process and allocated results for P&L calculation. Specifically lead the collection of drivers and assignments for the Insurance NZ and Enabling functions (F&A, CRO, L&S, PC&A, CEO).
What you'll do
- Support the development and delivery of the Group cost allocation process and allocated results for P&L calculation. Specifically lead the collection of drivers and assignments for the Insurance NZ and Enabling functions (F&A, CRO, L&S, PC&A, CEO).
- Support the development, use and maintenance of the group's Enterprise Cost Model (ECM) in relation to the Insurance NZ GI and Life businesses.
- Support the Insurance NZ business to understand their transfer pricing/allocated costs, providing insights/advice at product level for strategic decision-making.
- Support the implementation Oracle PCM as part of the IFRS17 project.
- Support preparation and analysis of the Group Expense Waterfall.
- Understand the information and analytical needs of key stakeholders within the Suncorp Group, collaborate with relevant team members within F&A community and leverage data resources to address the defined requirement.
- Degree Qualification in finance/accounting - Mandatory
- Membership of recognised professional body (ACA, CFA, CPA) - Desired
- Post graduate qualification (MBA, etc) - Desired
- Minimum 6 years proven proficiency in management accounting within financial services industry (general insurance)
- Demonstrated experience of 2+ years in cost modelling/allocations
- Solid understanding of expense drivers and nuances of expense management
- Solid understanding of cost modelling/allocation methodologies and systems
- Proficient consensus-building and facilitation skills, particularly in relation to consulting and influencing across all levels
- Strong financial management understanding, concepts and applications
- Self-starter with outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
- Ability to think and plan strategically, to see the value of work being performed
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks with tight timeframes
- High attention to detail and governance of outputs
- Flexibility to adapt and respond to ad hoc requests
- Strong customer focus - ability to build rapport and educate customers

- Proficiency with Excel, specifically power query/pivot and DAX.
- Knowledge of TM1, Perspectives, Oracle Financials, Oracle PCM is an advantage
