Senior AOD Clinician - Substance Treatment and Recovery Program (STAR)

  • Full-Time
  • Fixed-Term role until June 2024 with possibility of extension

About the Role:We are seeking an appropriately qualified AOD Clinician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in supporting adults and families with AOD concerns, offering high-quality therapeutic support and guidance. As a Senior AOD Clinician, you will play a crucial role in delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, conducting assessments, providing outreach case management, and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.The Team:VincentCare Victoria and The Salvation Army work in consortia to operate the STAR program across the Inner North and North West Catchments. The program aims to reduce AOD related harm to individuals and their families by providing an integrated and holistic service response through Assessment, Counselling and a Care and Recovery outreach approaches.We work together to support clients through all stages of their journey from crisis to recovery and to lasting and sustainable change.VincentCare Victoria:VincentCare Victoria is an award-winning organisation established to provide a range of accommodation and support services to people that are facing disadvantage throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria.Our aspiration is to be the leader in providing care, hope and advocacy for those facing disadvantage. You understand the importance of interacting and mediating in ways that respect the equality, diversity, choices, rights, safety and responsibilities of individuals throughout the process whilst also maintaining strong professional boundaries.You have experience in maintaining constructive, empathetic, supportive and respectful working relationships particularly across primary health, mental health, AOD treatment services and other significant community services for an integrated service response.Your experience and knowledge also extend to:
  • Effectively engaging with people experiencing complex issues
  • An ability to manage critical incidents, identify and act upon immediate risk of danger to self and others in both outreach and service-based capacities.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in liaising with other community service organisations for the development of on-going relationships and referral protocols beneficial to client support
