About the Company

Based in South Australia, REDARC has 40 years’ experience in the research, design, development and manufacture of electronic voltage converters and associated products, inverters, power supplies, battery chargers, electric brake controllers and trailer braking products. REDARC’s products are rugged and made to last.

In 2015, REDARC acquired Hummingbird Electronics located in Newcastle, bringing their industrial and mining experience to REDARC. Hummingbird brought new capabilities to the business, becoming REDARC's specialised sensing, measuring, and monitoring brand.

In 2019, REDARC celebrated its 40-year anniversary and launched REDARC Defence & Space.

About the Person

In the role of Senior App Developer (Flutter), the successful candidate will bring extensive practical experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and as a Scrum Master. You will bring experience with DevOps and Continuous Delivery as it applies to the Application Development Lifecycle. A demonstrated experience with the configuration and operation of Atlassian tools is essential, along with the ability to mentor and lead staff and teams. Previous experience with the development of products from concept through to market and working within quality standards such as ISO9001 is also required.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and part of cross functional teams, have advanced skills in app development tools and able to prioritise workloads for themselves and their teams.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Engineering technical lead role for App Development, working with Product Management, Engineering and Marketing to demonstrate the application of technology to generate solutions to Stakeholder needs.
  • Design, develop and deploy mobile application software using Java, Kotlin and Swift and other tools as are appropriate, as well as corporate systems including version control, Product Lifecycle Management, ERP etc.
  • Senior role is the execution of approved projects, including motivating, mentoring and being an exemplar for more junior team members.
  • Reviewing, approving and merging code of more junior team members and contractors.
  • Work with Firmware and Cloud/Web developers to ensure a wholistic digital solution.
  • Document the release notes for internal and external customers.
  • Communicate timelines, progress and risk.
  • Developing and performing manual and automatic software testing and validation procedures.
  • Ensure mobile application currency is maintained as new products, phones and tablets are released by testing and updating mobile applications as required.
  • Keep up to date on latest technologies, techniques and skills in your area.
  • Ensure the design and development of new and existing products are in accordance with Standards (REDARC Quality and Australian & International), Legal and Regulatory requirements and Intellectual Property requirements.
  • Assist us as we grow, fast! Bring in new ideas, tools, processes and grow your own skills and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • An Engineering Degree in a Computer Software design related field.
