It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.Day-to-day, you will:

• Provide support to the domain lead in Major incident management to co-ordinate activities across internal and external support partners to perform service restoration as required.
• Accountability for development of technical remediation plans and implementation of required actions to prevent reoccurrence of Technology incidents across internal and external support teams
• Construct and implement a service improvement plan to meet requirements or deficiencies identified as a result of incidents.
• Maintain, monitor and update batch workflows
• Run, chair and co-ordinate regular technical workshops
• With the domain lead, perform critical analysis of system monitoring requirements to inform service improvement plans and provisioning of monitoring solutions for new applications capabilities
• Identify, plan and execute improvements in Application management to increase systems stability and improve application performance.
• Create Procedures and Work Instructions are updated to reflect approved improvements
• Contribute in the continuing development of IT Operations processes, procedures, standards and methodologies.
• Perform 24x7 on-call duties on a rostered basis.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

• Proven experience as a senior level IT professional including work on large scale application integration projects.
• Must have an extensive experience supporting applications written in the following.
• o AWS Infrastructure (AMI, EC2, Cloudwatch, S3, Drives, Redhat/Amazon Linux, AWS APIs)
• o Expert in Java applications (Java, Spring Boot, Easy Batch, Log4J and other library dependencies.)
• o Deep understanding of Web application, including Webservers e.g. Apache Tomcat, Microsoft IIS
• o Hands-on experiences in My SQL RDS and MS MS-SQL
• o Secure File transfer (Axway, WS_FTP)
• o Scheduling tools such as Jenkins, CA Workload Automation
• o Hands-on experience in Splunk and CloudWatch
• Demonstrated ability to show thought leadership and drive solutions to complex technical problems
• Experience in applications support of mission critical systems
• Ability to define processes and document procedures (essential)
• Ability to lead small technical squads of internal and external staff to deliver technical solutions
• Ability to communicate to senior business and Technology stakeholders
• Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Imperva
• Experience in multiple operating systems including Microsoft, Unix (AIX), Linux and scripting
• Experience in programming (Java, Python, Bash, Groovy, ASP.NET)
• Experience with problem management in an Operational production environment.
