Our Asset Management group are responsible for a complex and diverse range of assets across the City of Moreton Bay including roads, footpaths, public amenities, buildings, waste management facilities, street lighting, coastal walls and jetties.
Within this the group, the Infrastructure Budget, Renewals and Innovation team are developing and deploying innovative projects. You'll be working on software and physical technology image detection products used to detect defects and assess the condition of many of Council's assets.
Delivering high quality custom software applications that integrate with existing City of Moreton Bay software solutions to manage council's broad range of assets. Being a senior member of the digital services development team, you will contribute to and drive the development standards including quality, testing and documentation.
This is a hybrid role, the team work together in the office on Tuesdays and Thursday to support collaboration and knowledge sharing.
About you
Bring your ability to write secure, well-tested, performant, and quality code and experience leading the technical design and implementation of software products across a team of developers.
You'll also have experience:
- Owning issues, driving and coordinating to meet delivery timescales/milestones.
- Reviewing code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
- Sharing knowledge through technical documentation, technical write ups, and technical presentations
- Actively collaborating with product owners, stakeholders and technical specialists to achieve effective and speedy development
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in software development, engineering, security and testing approaches, processes and tools
- Developing specialist knowledge in relevant programming languages, tools, techniques and apply expertise and knowledge to deliver effective solutions
- 3+ years' experience with Python & AWS stack
- Proficiency with automated testing, pipelines and docker containers
- Understanding DevOps, Scrum and Agile processes
- Mentoring junior staff with be high beneficial
- A degree in information technology, information systems or other relevant field, or suitable relevant experience.
