Senior Architect

Hames Sharley is seeking a talented Senior Architect to join our Northern Territory Studio in a role with a strong 2IC focus. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively across many sectors and grow professionally at one of Australia’s largest multi-disciplinary practices. This position would suit someone looking to fast track their career, with ambition towards a future studio leadership role.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Run projects from start to finish, and build a growing external industry presence
• Be part of a truly collaborative, design focused team approach from conception through to construction
• Mentor a diverse and inclusive internal team, with the support of the Studio Leader
• Be inquisitive and courageous in seeking to understand each client and collaboratively develop project-specific conceptual narratives
• Engage in management strategies and assist in business development
• Working on indigenous focused projects and undertaking indigenous consultation in remote communities
• Work on an extensive array of projects ranging from retail, health, defence, sports, and culture
• Maintain a design focus with the tenacity and rigour to see concepts through detail and on to site

As the ideal candidate you will bring to the role:

• Your drive, ingenuity and natural leadership capabilities
• Your passion for supporting both project and staff development
• Your excellent verbal and graphic communication skills
• Your ability to work independently with clients and consultants
• Strong presentation skills using software (such as Enscape) and the ability to efficiently detail and document.
• Knowledge of procurement, construction and building services desirable
• Experience using Revit
