How will I help?As a part of Corporate & Institutional Banking, under Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) division, you will report to the CIB
Data Management Lead and will support execution of various data initiatives in the line of business.Your key accountabilities will include:
- Support Data Management capability embedment in Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) business.
- Lead Critical Data Elements (CDEs) management including review of CDE definition, materiality scoring and facilitate approval process for Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) business.
- Lead the mapping of business data flows, identifying relevant business and technology controls, and highlighting deficient data controls for CIB business.
- Lead the CDE management focus groups with CIB SMEs, document required Data Governance artefacts, store and maintain on a regular basis.
- Manage CIB CDEs document repository, annual reviews of CDEs, data flows and controls, and maintain close collaboration with Data Quality team members.
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with Stakeholders that achieve the required outcomes; provide direction and guidance to others.
- Help create a “data first” culture within the business.

What do I need?You will have previous experience in
Data Management process and policies and having relevant industry experience such as DAMA, Enterprise
Data Management Council will be beneficial. In addition, you will also have:
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills as well as an eye for details.
- Strong Collaboration and excellent communication skills: this role requires influencing and interacting with the Group and WIB CDO, Technology roles and CIB Regulatory Projects team.
- Familiarity with data lineage and visualisation tools will be beneficial.
- Technical data knowledge (SQL, database scheme, physical data attributes) will be beneficial for this role.
- ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) knowledge will be an added advantage.
