Business and Consumer Group (BCG) Financial Markets provides Financial Markets execution, support, advice and risk services to customers across the Business and Consumer Division of the Group.
As a FX Direct dealer, you will provide service, execution and support services to retail customers that have or require FX services that are not delivered as part of the Group's ratesheet FX offerings. This may include negotiated FX rates, more advanced transactional FX offerings, alternate currencies, or FX hedging products.
You will support a large portfolio of Retail customers predominantly by phone, email and through electronic channels. The customers have a wide range of turnovers, dealing the full range of FX product available to Retail customers of Westpac group. The FX Direct team will also face Private Bank POS team and support them with their execution requirements. Customers will be from all segments, dealing through all channels. The team will also handle direct customer enquiry from new to bank and non-onboarded customers, ensuring principles of General Advice and Anti-Hawking are met.
You will also:
- Employ a strong understanding of FX execution principles, deal requirements and products to exceed service expectation of customers and internal stakeholders, including customer relationship managers. Enact the group strategy to support customers in their transition to superior digital services, commencing with FX.
- Collaboratively manage a large region of retail FX customers (primarily by phone and email) across a defined geographic region and support dealers within your region, or more broadly across Australia, as required. This includes working to onboard new customers, manage changed requirements for existing customers, or provide focused education on product or platform.
- Build relationships with stakeholders to ensure they have a clear understanding of the FM model and the FM Value proposition for their customers.
- Proactively take ownership of actions and initiatives that lead to better customer outcomes, improved risk management or stronger performance across the wider business.

What do I need?
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of two years' prior experience in Financial Markets foreign exchange execution for Retail clients and understand compliance obligations, in particular relating to General Advice and Anti Hawking.
You will have the ability to manage a significant portfolio of clients and experience in meeting the operational challenges involved in a high phone and email traffic environment.
Additionally, you will have:
- An understanding of Business and Consumer Division stakeholders
- Relevant education and professional accreditation, including AFMA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of FX products and deal systems, to enable appropriate education of customers and bankers.
