You will support with both Westpac’s external positioning on ESG and Sustainable Finance, and the Sustainable Finance risk management and process uplift activities.
You will develop a strong understanding of the sustainable finance market, including opportunities, risks and products as they relate to our corporate and institutional customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Defend and grow market share in Sustainable Finance
- Partner with customers to develop innovative sustainable finance solutions, including origination, structuring and transaction execution.
- Undertake sustainability due diligence and research to inform client pitches and deal execution.
- Attend and contribute to customer meetings on Sustainable Finance related opportunities.
- Assist in deal structuring and execution by supporting in the development of green/social/sustainable finance frameworks, determining asset eligibility, structuring sustainability KPIs, drafting documentation and roadshow materials.
- Utilise internal and external tools to perform eligibility assessments of Sustainable Finance transactions against market standards.
- Collate and analyse Sustainable Finance market data to support customer engagement.
- Input and maintain client and transaction data for internal and external reporting requirements, and ensure data accuracy and quality across systems including the sustainable finance pipeline.

What do I need?
To be successful in this role you will have a background in banking and have a strong interest in environmental or social issues and an awareness of sustainable finance instruments.
You will have demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and have strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
You will have strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
Additionally, you will have strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to build rapport with customers and internal stakeholders.
