The role:
As Senior Associate, you'll play an integral role in the continuing development of a small, dynamic Derivatives team. Actively assisting senior traders in the management of Interest Rate Derivative flows and the day-to-day functions of the desk. You will bring energy to help grow the client franchise by providing product pricing, ideas, strategies and observations on the market to the Sales Team in a timely and professional manner.
Day to day, you'll:
- Provide pricing and risk management support for the Interest rate Derivatives trading team
- Develop tools and analytics to improve processes for the day-to-day operation of the desk
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with sales teams and other key business stakeholders
- Ensure that all transactions and activities fall within the Market Risk and Regulatory frameworks of the business
- Comply with the law and all applicable compliance obligations relevant to the position holder's existing work responsibilities, duties, work practices and conduct
- Confirm with all internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position.
What you'll bring:
- Proven understanding of the key dynamics and influences of Interest rate Derivatives and financial markets
- A level-headed temperament, with the ability to work under pressure in a front office environment, where a consistently high level of diligence, accuracy and responsiveness is crucial
- Self-drive, initiative and commitment required to tackle a steep learning curve in the role
- A commercial tolerance for risk and risk awareness
- Proactive problem-solving skills, ideally gained in a current/recent trading and quantitative focussed role,
- Relevant tertiary qualifications/finance knowledge and some relevant practical experience would be favourably regarded
- Strong communication skills with writing, speaking, presenting, facilitating, interviewing
- A commitment to risk management, analytical reasoning, numeracy, planning, and programming.
