Our Aerospace business has established a large engineering team that needs to continue its growth and support international projects related to the Hawk platforms. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Avionics Engineer within our Aerospace team in Williamtown NSW, however working from other BAE Systems sites and remote locations will be considered.

Your new role:
* Work in our engineering team to define, develop and integrate advanced electrical and avionics systems
* Develop electrical related solutions, analyse electrical circuits, generate design solutions and integrate new avionic components and weapon systems
* Support the acquisition of new, modified or COTS avionics/electrical systems
* Ensure your work complies with avionics/electrical military standards and regulations
* Develop and logically integrate electrical subsystems to minimize technical product risks
* Have experience in avionics/electrical supplier interactions and engagement
* Provide support to both in service engineering and new equipment design activities
About you:
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
* 5-15yrs in electrical / avionic design and exposure to most lifecycle phases
* Demonstrated electrical design experience including generation and review of electrical/avionic design documents, drawings and schematics
* Experience in electrical design tools and relevant CAD programs (e.g. PTC Creo, AutoCAD Electrical)
* Broad knowledge of basic military aircraft electrical systems
* A general awareness of airworthiness (civil/military) regulations
* A Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent in Electronic, Electrical, or Mechatronics
* Ability to mentor systems engineers

Applicants must be current Australian Citizens to apply for this position and ideally hold a Baseline security clearance or have the ability to obtain this clearance. Please note: you must be an Australian Citizen to apply for a security clearance. In addition to this, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, candidate nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
